With Dominique missing due to a clash with the final MotoE World Cup event, team Ten Kate has decided to entrust the Yamaha R6 to the young Danish talent
The next Supersport World Championship round, set to take place over the weekend of 17-19 September at the Barcelona circuit, will be an important event. Current championship leader, Dominique Aegerter, will in fact be missing, due to a clash with the final round of the MotoE World Cup, which means he will miss the two races at Montmeló.
The Ten Kate team has decided to field young rider Simon Jesperson, who will take the Swiss rider’s place aboard the Yamaha R6. For the Danish rider, who has previously raced in the Junior Moto3 championship and is currently competing in the ESBK, this comes as a second opportunity to compete in the Supersport category this season.
Simon already took part in the Navarra round, wearing Kallio Racing colours, and did well in both races. The upcoming event will be something of an acid test for the young Dane, who knows the track well and will be competing for a strong team, with whom he will be keen to stand out ahead of a possible full-time move to the championship in 2022.
